Meltable grilled seafood served by a group of Tsukiji Sushi restaurant!

Tsukiji Outer Market is a vast shopping and restaurant district in Chuo-Ward, Tokyo. It used to be adjacent to Tsukiji Inner Market, one of the biggest public wholesale markets in Japan, which closed in 2018. Even after the relocation of the Inner Market to Toyosu, the Outer market has been a hive of activity.

"Tsukiji Aozora Sandaime" is a group of sushi restaurants. It was initially found by the third generation of a whole fish seller in Tsukiji and the third generation of Aozora Sushi Restaurant, both of which have 100 years of history. The group has expanded its business in Ginza, Marunouchi, Nagoya, and Okinawa as well.

One of them is “Yakiuo Ishikawa,” which opened in 2018, whose concept is the barbeque restaurant provided by Sushi restaurant. Instead of grilling meats, they grill the best seafood to be fresh enough to use for sushi. So in this restaurant, special ribs mean the fattiest portion of tuna caught from the wild. Restaurant staff grill the seafood, or they show you how to grill them. Those who usually can’t eat raw fish will enjoy them like meats. The restaurant serves individual dishes, full-course meals, or meal sets.

Let’s see one day’s “Yakiuo meal set.” The main dish is “Cheek meet of tuna, medium fatty tuna, and yellowtail.” Of course, these fish are fresh enough to eat as sashimi raw fish. The set includes red vinegar rice, clam miso soup, and seasonings (pickled wild garlic leaves in soy sauce, grated radish, lemon, Japanese pepper, and gingers). Red vinegar rice is very sour but goes well with the grilled seafood, and you’ll forget you are eating seafood.

If you want to enjoy more seafood, a 7500 JPY full course menu, including high-grade fish like Black throat seaperch or a 10,000 JPY full course menu, including a seafood bowl, can be the best choice.

Since this restaurant is trendy, reservation is recommended. There is another sushi restaurant on the second floor of this restaurant, which only has eight counter sheets. “Tsukiji Aozora Sandaime Bettei.” Selected sushi is served by Master Maeda or the executive chef of the Sandaime group.
