Payment term

• After you agree with my service contents and conditions, invoice is issued and sent to you via e-mail.
• You are required to pay a 50% deposit of my guiding fee to confirm your booking via PayPal by USD and remaining a 50% of my guiding fee is payable by cash on your tour day.
• If both of us agree, the remaining 50% of guiding fee is payable by Japanese Yen. Prior monthly average rate is used for calculating the currency exchange rate.
• If you request any additional reservations such as restaurants, transportation, and tickets when booking, they are charged to the deposit.
• A booking is confirmed once I have received a deposit. I’ll send you a confirmation e-mail.

Cancellation Policy

Any cancellation by you must be initiated by email to smori.guide@gmail.com, or by SMS, SNS. I will send you a cancel confirmation email as soon as possible.

【Standard Cancellation Policy】

• If you cancel due to any reason such as illness and change of personal circumstances, the date on which the request to cancel is received by me will determine the refund due as follows:
  • at least 8 days in advance of the scheduled departure, the deposit is fully refund excluding a 5% transaction fee to a limit $1000 USD.
    • e.g. If your tour is scheduled on Friday, April 10th, the deadline of cancellation is 24:00 midnight of Thursday, April 2nd.
  • within 7 days in advance of the scheduled departure, the 50% deposit is NOT refund.
• If you wish, I will hold the deposit open for use against a future booking to be taken within 6 months of the original arrival date. If there is any difference in the guiding cost of the alternative tour will be refunded or paid by you as applicable.
• Any non-recoverable out-of-pocket costs I have incurred on your behalf are NOT refundable.
  • (If there are any fares refundable, I will refund you after deducting cancellation fee and transaction fee.)
• In case I cancel a tour due to weather or other circumstance, you may choose between a rescheduling of the tour or a full refund of all monies paid.

【Force Majeure cancellation policy】

• Force Majeure includes impersonal events such as war, civil insurrection, strikes, volcanoes, extreme weather, pandemics, earthquake or natural disaster that makes it dangerous or impossible to safely undertake the tour or if you are on a ship and it is unable to dock for whatever reason, you are covered under this ‘Force Majeure’ provision.

What constitutes “Force Majeure” is at a discretion of me.

• If you cancel or cannot take your tour as a consequence of force majeure,
  • at least 8 days in advance of the scheduled departure, the deposit is fully refund excluding a 5% transaction fee to a limit $1000 USD.
  • within 7 days in advance of the scheduled departure, the 50% deposit is NOT refund.
• If you wish, I will hold the deposit open for use against a future booking to be taken within 12 months of the original arrival date. If there is any difference in the guiding cost of the alternative tour will be refunded or paid by you as applicable.
• Any non-recoverable out-of-pocket costs I have incurred on your behalf are NOT refundable.
  • (If there are any fares refundable, I will refund you after deducting cancellation fee and transaction fee.)

Travel Insurance

Buying travel insurance is strongly recommended before visiting Japan since I can’t be responsible for any damages during your tour which occurred beyond my control. Some international airports sell travel insurance there.

There are two recommended travel insurance companies when you visit Japan.
